everything I say is immaterial
everything you so is so ethereal, I have your letters pinned on my board
you used to say I took the words so serious, now I'm serious
I'm changing now but I know its too late for it, now I pay for it on the floor
I'm too late for it
now, I pay for it
I beg you to talk but now you're as good as gone
I got up and walked, now I'm a lonesome clown
everything we say is immaterial
we both look like we're at a fucking funeral, I miss the usual, I don't know
I've never lost somebody who meaningful in an evening-full
I hate to see the feelings aren't mutual but now I pay for it on the floor
I'm too late for it
now, I pay for it
I paved the way for it
now, I pay for it
I beg you to talk but now you're as good as gone
I got up and walked, now I'm a lonesome clown
Is this forever?

I'm a sucker for lyrics. This song is a beautiful sadness to end a summer with. I love every track on this album but this one is comfortable to me, for better or worse. It captures a feeling I think unfortunately most of us have felt. Surf Curse's whole sound reminds me of loss and no more so then here. logansaxby
